Dave is the ultimate volunteer that most associations can only dream about having.
Summary:
 Has been involved as a coach in 5 pin bowling for over 30 years
 Was named Ontario Provincial Elite Coach of the Year for 5 pin bowling in 1999
 Served as a zone director of youth bowling for many years
 Served on the Ontario Provincial board for 15 years – including President from 2005 -
2011
 Served as provincial delegate to national meetings since 2004
 Elected as C5PBA 1st Vice-President/Technical Director in August 2005
 Elected as C5PBA National President in August 2011 and served until August 2017
 Took over the coaching program in August of 2005 and had the Community Sport
Initiation program approved and ready for delivery in September of 2007
 Master Learning Facilitator for Community Sport Initiation and Competition Introduction
 Led the development of the Competition Introduction coaching program and had it
approved and ready for delivery in December of 2010
 Served as a member of a CAP review committee to review other sports coaching
program
 January 2011 - Association’s annual ‘Coach of the Year ‘ award renamed to honour
Dave’s work in developing the new coaching programs – (Dave Post Elite Coach of the
Year Award)
 Continues to deliver the coaching programs as a facilitator in Ontario and across Canada
when requested
 Served as a member of Bowling Federation of Canada committee developing
Competition Review for LTAD
 Worked with Special Olympics Canada to develop a Community Sport Initiation coaching
program for Special Olympics coaches.
 Inducted into Ontario 5 Pin Bowlers’ Association Hall of Fame in 2007 in the Builders
Division
 Inducted as a Life Member in the Ontario 5 Pin Bowlers’ Association in 2011
 Received the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal through the Coaching
Association of Canada for his work with the coaching programs of the C5PBA
 Instrumental in developing and implementing the Hall of Fame program for the C5PBA
 Was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award by Canadian 5 Pin Bowlers’ Association in
August of 2018.
The C5PBA is proud to induct Dave Post of Ontario into the Builders Division of the C5PBA Hall of Fame.
