Doug Miller
Inducted: May 24, 2025
A true visionary whose passion and dedication reshaped Canadian 5 Pin Bowling.
Between 1960 and 1970, he led a wave of innovation that laid the foundation for modern 5 pin bowling. He co-founded the Youth Bowling Council, helped create Four Steps to Stardom, and formed both the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of Ontario and Canada—cornerstones of our sport’s growth.
His legacy includes the Golden Age Program, World Bantam Tournament, and the Master Bowlers Association of Ontario—initiatives that gave bowlers of all ages a path to thrive. Beyond program creation, he was a tireless advocate, helping eliminate the counter pin, pushing for insurance reforms, national publicity, and raising professional standards.
He was named Builder of the Bowling Industry in 1976, inducted into the Ontario and Bowl Canada Halls of Fame, and nominated for the Order of Canada.
Please join me in celebrating his remarkable legacy and welcoming Doug Miller into the C5PBA Hall of Fame.
