Carl Malcolmson
Inducted: June 1, 2024
• In 1952, he assisted in hosting the founding convention of the Bowling Proprietors Association Ontario and, in the ensuing years, served the Association in a variety of posts including President and Chairman of the Board
• In 1964 he attended a meeting in Winnipeg which led to the creation of the Bowling Proprietors Association of Canada where he again served in many capacities including President
• He was a strong supporter of the National Association and national unity on the bowling scene.
• In 1971, the Canadian Association was established as a national entity and he was hired as the National Administrator soon opened bowling headquarter in Scarborough, Ontario
• At the helm, and with guidance from a dedicated Board of Directors the 70’s provided growth and prosperity for the BPAC and established programs all reflected substantial growth
• He played a major role in the formation of the National Bowling Association (Bowling Federation of Canada) His personal relationship with several influential politicians opened the door for the bowling fraternity to lobby the Federal Government for recognition and in 1972, the government recognized bowling as a recreation and the Bowling Federation of Canada was formed to combine all national bowling organizations. Since that time, the government has also recognized bowling as a sport.
History has recorded him as a promoter of all bowling and a builder of associations. He was committed to the slogan “Together We are Something”.
The C5PBA is proud to induct into the Builders Division of the Hall of Fame, class of 2024, Carl Malcolmson of Ontario.
